resetting_root_password_in_grub

This is an old revision of the document!


At GRUB, highlight kernel.
Press (e) to edit boot process.
Add a space and then press (s) at the end of the boot sequence command line (this is for single user mode).
Press (b) to reboot machine.
Machine loads into root without a password.
Use passwd to create a new password.
Then issue 'shutdown -r now' to reboot machine.
